    Two Headed Garter Snake

I month or so ago I was talking with a neighbor about my garter snakes. He suddenly said that he had a two headed garter snake many years ago(30 he figured). I thought, rrrrright. He then said he still had the skeleton somewhere at his parent's house. I told him I would love to see that.
Well, he came to the door a few minutes ago and sure enough. He said the snake lived about a week and that both heads were alive and flicking their tongues. I'm guessing T.radix.

Well why not a garter? My brother caught a 2 headed king snake in San Diego CA in the late 70's that lived a long life on display at the San Diego zoo. I mean, I know it's more common with some species of snakes but if they can do it, why not a garter snake?

I think it's very cool that it happened in my neighborhood. Right next door to the house I live in. Maybe

    Re: Two Headed Garter Snake

Hi, i found your forum post because it came up in a Google news reader keyword search.

Any chance your neighbor would consider selling the two-headed snake mummy/skeleton? I am collector of animal specimens with severe deformities, and I would love to add this to my collection. Two-Headed snakes are not that rare, but I'll take anything I can get. I already own 2 two-headed carpet pythons that were born in the same clutch of eggs. I own eleven specimens total, with a conjoined twin turtle on the way that will be bringing my total to twelve. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I can be contacted at batcountrybooks@gmail.com If anyone on this forum hatches a two-headed, two-faced, cycloptic, or otherwise strange birth, I am always interested in buying, and if I am not interested, I can place you with someone who is. Just drop me a line with a photo and a price.

Below is the photograph of my 2 two-headed snakes that was taken by the breeder that hatched them shortly after birth (and shortly before or after their death.)
