yes - dead snake damn!
and the fact that I was sick is no excuse
I forgot to do something and it cost my snake's life
here's the little problem I neglected to amend:
all of the longer glass cages I have, have a short strip of framing connect the front and back across the middle of the cage at the top, and this is one of the favourite spots for some of my snakes
years ago, I lost a snake because of a cat jumping on top of the cage. since then I've been putting oversize books or board games across those vulnerable spots
a couple of days ago I forgot to replace one of the game boxes, and yesterday I found my female anery radix right underneath the cross support, dead and with her neck at a weird angle
I could just kick myself, I am so mad at me

Dang, that sucks. One time would be enough for me to make sure it could never happen again. I'd correct that situation immediately if not sooner if I were you, even it means completely ditching that enclosure for a different one.

Richard - I solved the problem when it happened years ago
because I had a virus attacking my gut with vicious cramps while I was changing water bowls, I neglected to complete the final security measure on this enclosure, which is otherwise perfectly fine
and I'm not going to kill the cats either
