Tonight I pulled all my girls out of their 6 foot enclosure as it is cleaning time. They will all spend a day or so in the tub while their living space gets scrubbed. One of the items in their home is a naturally hollowed out log. It's about 20 inches long. When I pulled it out I also pulled a smaller female out of it. I gave the log to Gabby and told her to set it on the back deck so I could clean it out in the morning.
Approximately 45 minutes later I layed down to get some sleep. As I tried to sleep I kept going over the list of snakes that went into the tub. Something seemed wrong. Then it dawned on me, I didn't see one of the two males that was in with the girls. I hadn't seen my boy Midnite.
I jumped up and went to the back deck and grabbed the log.
You guessed it , Midnite was still inside.
Gabby said she brought the log up and rolled it out on the deck. That had to be a heck of a ride for Midnite. I would have felt terrible if I had lost him.
