    Natricines Galore!

The hamburg show on saturday was a very good day for me. VERY good. The guy who gets in a few concinnus every year got in a few really nice ones, which I picked up for a canadian client I am putting together a massive, HUGE order for. He is buying lots and lots of garter and water snakes and it's my job to track them down and get them all together for him, for a very large shipment and lots of paperwork sometime in july/august. I am however, keeping two of the males, who fit in very well with my projects:

this one will go towards the high black project, his head is much nicer than the other male:

And THIS gorgeous romeo is staying with me for very obvious reason:

I snagged a pair of sinonatrix annularis... Ringed water snakes, these are pretty little things that give live birth. would have gotten more, but the rest were not in as good shape as this pair. This is the male, he gorged himself on shiners yesterday!

I also found a pair of frog-eating rat snakes, these are sometimes lamely referred to as chinese garter snakes. The female is especially pretty. These snakes are exceptionally curious about me and what I am doing when I'm around.

Tucked away in a little corner of some guy's table was this gem... a black salt marsh water snake. It's a female.

lastly, a guy I know that does some importing was able to bring in for me a trio of striped keelbacks... they arrived the day of the show, and boy are they healthy and lively! All three ate right off of the tongs.

The last two are not natricine related...

yet another king rat.... what can I say, I have a soft spot for these guys. They are like owning a gigantic garter snake. They are so smart and their eyesight is off the hook!

Bandit, my first ever "real" pet snake, finally has a girlfriend.... it only took me 8 years to find him one. But I waited it out until I found the perfect girl, huge and tame as a button. Besides the guy who I got her from had her as an only pet since she was little and she's been raised around kids, so she's the perfect candidate for education. Bandit deserves her, he's what got me into this hobby. We named her Trouser. LOL!

that's all folks... apologies for the terrible photos! They had to be quickies...

thanks! I am glad I was finally able to procure specimens that never had time to enter the wholesaling trade and get all beat up. They are really awesome.

If you ever get any breeding done with them, please keep me in mind.

Gorgeous brown and yellow king. They were always my favorite one's to find in San Diego. I didn't know you were looking for a female like that. I've passed up at least 3 in the past few months, all free or very low adoption, all healthy, large, and tame. They seem to come up a lot around here. When I got jewels (milk snake) the lady also wanted me to take her 5 foot female CA king but I passed her up.

Awesome concinnus too. Some day, if I ever get my want for Oregon anery's filled, (2 breeding pairs) I will eventually find time this summer to find some nice rich orange normals like those, here on the WA side of the river.
