    First Wild Radix 2010

I was out looking for some slugs and earthworms this morning and came across my first wild Ranch radix of the year. This male was cold and moving in slow motion. He's inside now. I'll give him a good check over, some food and water and a day or so of TLC before he's released back. We've got cold rain moving in tomorrow but much warmer temps arriving after that.
I don't want to keep him from his duty.

Sucks here today. Very sunny and all of 27 degrees. But from what I hear, we are supposed to be in the 70's at the middle to end of next week! So I'll suck it up a day or two if that's what it takes to get the good weather back!

He got the boot this morning. He hesitated at the door. I had to get down on the floor and explain to him how all the wild ladies were waiting for him outside. With that, he took off like a shot. I hope to see him again, as the season progresses.

Tonight, my daughter Gabby was at the end of the property when the new neighbor approached her with this little male he found in his driveway. Once again, a day of TLC and then back out. I have enough males and don't plan on increasing those numbers. That's not to say an exceptional one might stay. This male is a dark brown phase with a beautiful green/yellow head.
