At this moment the video is still processing and its quality isn't that great. An hour from now it will be much better.

sweet footage Steve, I like your enclosure that you built, I bet it is fun to watch them climb on the vines, very natural.

More than that is the fact that everyone of these snakes in the new enclosures has really relaxed. Many times I have to catch them as I'm opening up since they won't move. These big screened door give them great vision into the whole snake room. They watch me do everything and don't move away when I walk by. My snakes are even more relaxed with strangers. I gave a tour of the Big snake room to a family. They are considering getting their son a snake but wanted to see a few first. My snakes treated the 6 visitors very well and even allowed the children to handle them.

I find that a real bonus too ... my snakes are all in my living room (ie a high traffic area) and are accstomed to seeing those big pink monkeys going about their business. The fact that the enclosures are large and harbour many hiding places is the best thing for giving garter snakes confidence from my experience.

Cool video! The enclosure looks really nice too, I didn't realize how big it was. How many snakes do you have in your collection in total?

That I don't know and don't care to findout(sticker shock). My numbers are way up from last year due to the large number of rescued gravid females. Over the next 2 months my numbers will be dropping as many of these babies will be released back into the respective areas.
My regular radix crew numbers around 120. Most of these were bred and born on the Ranch. I am always looking for good homes to adopt them into(hint, hint) I have many adult large radix females that behave more like pet dogs. It is such a joy working with them.
