    We have a lockup.
I pulled the pair out and put them in a large plastic container. This way I hope it will cut down on any injuries to the male. She's dragging him all over the place.
I did see something very interesting. I observed the head of his hemipenis expanding and contracting. I'm guessing that would be him passing the sperm. A snakes orgasm.
She's a young female and I think this will be her first group of babies. 90-120 days from now will tell.

Awesome! The way you described the hemipene sure painted a picture in my head. Eeeww. Does it really have a "head"??? never saw anything even resembling a peniz on my snakes. Looked more like a medieval torture device. With a pair of pointy horns and cat-tounge spikes all over it. Ouch. That can't possibly feel good.

Spring must be about here. Breeding has commenced. All my snakes seem distracted. It's not only breeding but overall activity. I opened a window in the big snake room and everyone was at their screens.
The heck with Groundhog's Day, replace it with Thamnophis Day.
