    Ribbon eating/other questions ...

Will a ribbon snake eat mice? The ribbon snake I just got has been eating gold fish, what would be the best food item to try with him first? I will probably have a few other questions later but that should be good for now. Thanks!

Unlikely without scenting. Might be easier to just switch to a safer kind of fish.

I figured I'd probably have to scent it first, but it is possible? I didn't want to waste a bunch of time annoying the snake & I with attempts that were bound to fail. I also thought I'd try some type of fish first, just to make sure he's eating good.

I was surprised how easily mine took frozen mice for the first time.

I would give it a try and if it fails a couple times, scenting may help. Most species have a huge range in prey and aren't too picky.
