    Baby radix video

These group is so calm and used to me. They didn't mind at all that I was disturbing them. This is a very large group and it will be hard to release them this Spring.

Great video. They are acting just like my T. sirtalis concinnus did for most of their long lives. Every time I walked into the room, they would do the "curious" look. I think it comes from the association with food. If I walked into the room they would do that, but if I wiggle my fingers close to them where they could see, they would come "running" since I almost always fed them by dangling worms, fish, frogs, from my fingers.

I love that wide-eyed look, like a troop of preschoolers seeing their first clown, lol. Adorable. Nice video.

It is adorable. My concinnus grew attached to me, as I to them. That look you speak of, never gets old. You never get tired of seeing it. It was very hard their last few years, (beyond 17 yrs old) knowing they were going to die any day and no amount of care was going to change that. I miss them so much. I guess after a break for a few years, I was ready to get interested again. That's what brought me here. Next year, spring 2010, I'm going herping in concinnus territory and definitely coming home with 3 or 4 youngsters, later to be thinned down to just a pair. I'm ready for another decade or two with one or a pair of these fine companions. I choose to keep locally born wild specimens so there's no moral issues with releasing them, or their offspring if it becomes necessary. Also considering a CB normal checkered though.
