There isn't really anything on the internet or even books that I've found that deals directly with Pugets. Mostly I'd imagine that the care would be pretty similar to any sirtilis. But as I'm getting some Pugets in the near future I'd be interested in hearing if there is anything that you should or shouldn't do for this sub-species.

Care for them the same you would any garter snake. I care for all of my garters equally and they all thrive. Just remember the important basics:

    1- places to hide
2- food that they actually will eat
    3- constant supply of water
4- heat source if necessary, they don't need it very hot, my snakeroom gets around 80 on the average day, any hotter and they actually don't like it. They will tolerate extreme cold better than extreme heat. Many keepers do not use supplementary heat on their garters. I use the room temperature of my snakeroom.

I have an adult pair. I use a twenty gallon aquarium for both, with a water bowl and three hides.
