    "Double-Clutch"?

I caught a gravid female Thamnophis elegans vagrans today that did not look like she was too far along. I have been keeping an eye on the population in this area all year. I found males emerging from the den in early March and the first female that I found was in early April. Food supply is very high with both rodents and amphibs having a very big year as far as numbers go. Do you think it is a "double-clutch", or just a late breeder?

I will do my best! I did not keep her but I did mark her unique markings in my log. I will see if I can't keep track of her for awhile.

It was a very warm spring down my way Don, that is until it started to snow agian in June, March and April were the months I saw the most Garter activity in this specific spot with a lot of breeding balls out there.
