    shedding problems

My Uncle's had a garter snake for about 5 months now. It's approx 18 months old. He's getting worried as it still hasn't shed. It hasn't even shown any signs of getting ready to shed like going off its food or the eyes clouding over. Is this something to be concerned about.

    Re: shedding problems

That is a little strange for such a young snake, but I wouldn't worry. Some mature snakes shed almost only once or twice a year. I'd double check how much food you give the snake though, because sheds are often caused by growth. Your snake will probably shed in it's own time. Shedding can be very unpredictable.
