    Question Fir tree bark substrate

Would it be okay to use chopped/ground bark from fir trees for my garters? If yes, does it matter what age? (i dont want to irritate their skin)

It's likely to contain lots of resin, which is toxic or at least irritating. I wouldn't mess with it. No comment on the age thing.

    I concur with Stefan.
