    Day of Herping

Went herping at a friend's house who's near one of my favorite herping spots.

    Looking for toads...

Big leaf pile in the middle of the swamp; loads of worms here!

Beautiful steel-phase resident of above leaf pile.

    Adorable little face.

Our haul. (Mine on the left, his on the right. lol )

Female butler's! First of the year!

One of many, many, MANY easterns we found.

Same snake checking how well I taste.

    Cranky female in shed.

    Yellow-flame type colors on her.

Really gentle big girl we pulled up from a female hot spot.

Almost flame female found near my friend's front yard.

Same girl. Ain't she a beaut?

    A forest we explored.

Sun setting on my other friend's backyard. (Looking in the other direction of the last pic.)

    Female butler's.

    A very productive day.

Looks like you had a great day. Let's see Herping with a freind in his backyard. Finding many different snakes. Finding food for your snakes. Time outside.
Does it get any better than this? I don't think so!

You can divide the patterns up into lined or non-lined.
From there, you can divide the colors up into brown, steel, and tan.
From there, you can divide the subcolors into salmon, cinnamon, or slate; then if you want you can add the belly scale colors.
Basically, to describe it, you work your way from the ventral surface down to the belly scales. So that girl would be a lined steel-slate phase.
I'll get pictures of the different combos once I find every one again... The neatest one I found was a lined steel-salmon; boy was she nifty.
