Well our resident eejit, aka 'J', aka radix male has been ignoring the benefits of mealtimes again ... just past one and a half months now ... I've tried tease feeding and 'mixing it up' ... nothing yet. when he first went off his food he got plenty of attention from slithers (so was presumably giving off fake female hormones and was obviously therefore thinking it was time to find a girlie) ... should I give him some more time or would it be a good idea to try and give him a short brumation period?

If he's otherwise okay, then sure, why not try to brumate him. Cuts down on the feeding costs, too.

He has lost some weight tho ... after reading at gartersnake.info would 1-2weeks seems good enough to help re-set his appetite?

i would do a month unless hes really skinny

I would go a month but check on him regularly....if he starts losing noticeable weight then pull him out earlier towards fall and winter if my snakes don't eat for 2-3 weeks I put them down...
