    hmmm...does he need more time?

My dad captured Herbert 4 days ago I belive. I gave him some worms last night and I think he some of one. I added a crap load of them tonight, but he doesn't seem to want anything to do with them...and then sometimes he will go up to them touch them with his tongue as in he is going to eat it and them slithers away...does he need more time to adjust? Or should I try and get my mom to pick me up some feeder fish or something?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Kevin, I wouldn't worry too much yet. Give him a couple days and then try again. If this doesn't work after a week or so then try the feeder fish.

In some dirt, in the fridge... that's how they sell worms for bait. It should work You could freeze them, but the snakes usually like them live better.

4 days is nothing for a WC... Give him more time! He will come around.

I kinda thought that...kinda like my Large mouth bass I used to have...takes like a week for them to calm down. I will go and put the wormies in a little container and some dirt in there.

My snake is WC and it took her 4 days to eat. I guess they just need time to get used to their new home and stuff.. Im sure he will eat for you very soon

Indeed, 4 days is no time at all, don't worry just yet. In the meantime make sure his environment is as good as it can be.... http://www.thamnophis.com/caresheets...ake_Care_Sheet

just be patient...can take up to a couple weeks for the snake to acclimate to captivity. don't freeze worms....they turn to mush when thawed......put them in dirt and put in a fridge or real cool place....remove any dead ones immediately as the others will die also.
