    Big Problem

the local pond had a abundance of frogs, worms, and small fish, and of course.....garter snakes. the local children have kept at least one or two garter snakes. But now something horrible has happened. they have been feeding there garter snakes a lot of frogs and fish that there is pratically any left. the reason why is because they taken more frogs to feed to there snakes before the frogs have time to reproduce as for the fish. so now the garters still in the wild are only eating worms and few little fish. so the neighbors have got together and made a law for the neigborhood(permission from the mayor)that no child nor adult shall take any wildlife from the pond for 3 years. so now all they can do is just take pictures.

Well, isn't that good? Why the unhappy face?

And why not you or you get someone to give programs at the park (if the pond's in a park) or programs nearby and talk about snakes, ecology, balances, etc.?

God bless your neighbors and the mayor. I hope you enforce the 'law' and help out to make sure balanced populations come back.

It's unfortunate that it had to be done.

LOL! Stefan, you crack me up! The King of Understatement and Chief Head Devil's Advocate.

Look at the positive side, it *was* done. There goeth some unsnakey kind'a folk who actually care about snakes and an entire eco-bio system in their backyards. They're practicing that which you preach.

Thank gods there are some people out there with their heads on straight.
