The top looks like a ribbon, but the bottom of it doesn't. Could we have a picture of the head/face and the side of the body.

Well farther down the sides. The bottom stripe doesn't look right.

    Re: what Garter is this

I will try very hard to get better photos. I dont understand it. It was taken by an SLR camera. I wouldnt say i was very good but i think i am average at taking photos but both my camers have struggled to take good shots of my snakes.
    1. Is it because the snakes are moving allways.
    2. Is it because of camera shake,(as i am trying to watch they dont get out while taking the shots)
    3. Is it because of the lighting.

As for where i got the snake. I got it from a shop near Abingdon and they told me it was a common/striped garter. It was eating pinkies they told me but has not eaton one since i got it home and has only eaten worms so far. I thought he might like some company and put Lois in with him. I am hoping he starts eating pinkies and fish soon.

Pretty hard to tell from that pic, but I would say it's a parietalis with no red. Where did you get it?

I see what you mean. I still think it's parietalis.

I'm going to say either T. s. sirtalis or T. s. parietalis sans red.
Also, is that tinge of brown on the upper left of the snake scale row 1?
If so, I may be tempted to think T. b. butleri.

Hoping to get some T. s. sirtalis High-Reds next summer!
