    Swarm'd

So. The mantid ooth my friend sent me hatched today.
    'Nuff said.
My mother was paranoid as HELL.
When I was in 5th grade, I had a wild caught adult female who laid 3 ooths. It was about November when she died, and my mom called the local wildlife center to see if the eggs were gonna hatch. They said get them outside ASAP. But we forgot and a day after the call the eggs hatched early in the morning without our knowing in a container with very large vents.
So. We had tons of baby mantids roaming our house. So she's making sure I can contain them this time. XD

Well, I don't think they'll all make it, I'm thinking about separating a few and throwing the occasional lobster roach nymph in with the group. I have plenty of baby lobster roaches. :P

Which reminds me, if there's any one interested in buying roaches, I guess I could throw a couple in to sweeten the deal.

Ooth-- cool word! Good heavens, that's a lot of little mantids! So they will eat the roaches?? Is that what they normally eat-- other insects??

    Yep. :P
Mantids and roaches are like brothers on the life family tree; it's kind of odd to watch one eat the other. XD

Yeah, apparently the egg's not done. XD
There's about double the number in there now. x.x

I'd guess there's around... 100-200 babies out already.
