    bubble and squeak, please....

    hi all members from the UK....
    well I just have to ask someone for there fav recipie for this dish, I have potatos and cabbage and need a good one,
    I know this has nothing to do with snakes but would love to try my hand at this dish so any help would be so nice!!

    Potatoes and cabbage? Is that what we subsist on in the UK? I thought that was Russia.

    well I do have some international cook books, but there seems to be menny versions of this dish. from left over meats and sometimes pumpkin too!!
    but potatos are mentioned in all of them, as well as cabbage
    please enlighten me. I am but a poor american cook!!

    Pine needles make an excellent vitamin-C rich tea. But you're not supposed to eat them.

    My wife recommends;
    Finely chopped onions, saute'ed in butter.
    Mix with the pre-cooked cabbage and potato.
    Add an egg (beaten).
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    With floured hands, make the mixture into patties or small cakes, fry off in a little butter or oil.
    Eat it!

    one dish i really love is an irish dish, tater (potato) hash.
    look it up on the net for a resipe but you will love it
