    Lost baby pudget

Well, it has happened to us as well. My older daughter found our baby red-sided in our master bathroom staring at the bathroom scale two nights ago. This led to the discovery of the lid of the snake cage (a 10 gal aquarium with a screen top) in my younger daughter's room being ajar.

The redsided is quite a bit more active than the pudget and the pudget is more likely to hole up some where. Probably still upstairs. On each of the 3 bedroom floors, I have placed a glass bowl, containing a minnow in water, and a desk lamp over it. so far no luck. Next step is to lower the house temp a bit, probably when we go away tor 2 days for Thanksgiving.

    Hows that sound?

hmm well how large is it?, if its to small it might be dead by the time you get back, and lowering temps might activate brumation mode so idk

Garters also climb up to search for a nice hide, so check the shelves and similar around.
Baby snakes can dry out during very few days!
So when it is wandering, the bathroom will be worth a second and thrid look.

Sounds like a bummer, but it also sounds like you have things under control. Just in case you haven't seen this thread, it's worth a look (http://www.thamnophis.com/forum/urge...ost-radix.html). Some neat ideas for finding escapees there.
