Hi. This is my T. couchii - Sierra Gartersnake. I've had him since he was a little guy. I caught him in the fall of 2002 in the high sierra's. I finally got him to take small mice over the past year or so.

Tell you the truth, I've never tried to sex it. I've always thought it to be male, as it seems to have a post-vent bulge, but I havent probed it yet. Its really grown over the past year since it switched to mice. I believe its near 3' long now, but I'll have to double-check.

Thanks, everyone. I need to gather up nice pics of all my garters for a post. I already have some, but need to dig them out of my thousands of pictures on my computor. Guess I should start a "garter" file. Maybe I'll take some new pics today- we'll see.
