    fashionably late, but ...

here are some pics of my latest additions

The first one is a female elegans terrestris that Gijs & Sabine picked out for me... it already has a nice coloration, so this will become a beauty, I'm sure of it.

And she is a VERY good eater... she is currently housed together with another garter, and she ate the complete meal I gave them. This is the proof

Then we have this nice couple atratus atratus. The female has an orange line and the male a yellow line. I love them, they are always visible and never retreat in their hides

I already had some marcianus, but now I can have 2 different bloodlines

The first is a normal wildcolored male.

And this is unfortunately the only pic of the heterozygote albino female.

Next is my couple hammondii, unfortunately brother and sister, but maybe I can change that next year and have some other bloodlines... we'll have to see

Those are really the most secretive garter I've had till now. I enjoy every second they pop out.

They also eat like a pig, as you can see.

And after walking to Gijs & Sabine's table at snake day, I couldn't resist this little fella. He also has some great color on him. So another male elegans terrestris.

I have 2 other terrestris, but don't have pictures of them at the moment, sorry

And because I like you guys, I'll give you some dessert.

You can't see the difference, it's only geneticly. It has the albino gene, but that is surpressed by the normal colored gene. I also have a male albino and breeding him to the female heterozygote will give me albino and heterozygote newborns.

Maybe reading this can clarify things:

ahhh just had a light bulb go on lol the female is het for albinoism. so if you freed it to a normal male and have an albino baby, then you breed the baby with the mum it makes another baby eiter albino or 66%het for????
