way to scare a person lol

ok first, while I have read that Garters dont like to be handled too often, I have found that Rook enjoys it, he comes out on his own when he wants to and hangs out on my hand, I dont hold him there, he likes to hang out on my hand of his own accord. so when all he wanted to do yesterday was hide and didnt wanna come out, combined with not having had eaten since he arrived I was starting to get worried. he is so new here that I just assumed it was just because he's new(though that didnt explain the hiding when he normally loves to hang out with me). you seasoned snake people probably figered it out already lol. he shed his skin last night and is once again a happy playful little fella

    hey,
    Welcome to the site.
Most snakes won't eat, while their in there shedding phase.and their usually quite jumpy.
with my every growing collection,my beastie Outer Banks Kingsnake,is the only one that lets nothing get in her way of feeding.
