    What're these spots?

I noticed a couple of dark spots on Dart's belly the other day. They don't seem to match up with any of the scale rot photos I looked at. What are they?

Getting this photo was a 2 person job--he was in major panic flail mode.

Looks like a really minor version of what you'd call scale rot to me. Honestly they'll probably shed out if you just leave them alone, but you may want to use a Q-tip and just brush some betadine on those spots a few times just as a preventative measure.

Also make sure the substrate hasn't been getting damp or anything just in case.

    Hmmm!

His substrate is bone dry--I keep a humid hide for him, so the only way he'd be getting too wet is if he either hung out in there too much or...went swimming too often, both of which are his own dang fault, if so.

I might try for a little betadine and water swim, rather than brushing some on--he's really not super keen on me holding onto his wiggly shoelace self. Followed by some towel playtime so he dries back off!

Hey, try putting some Carefresh down throughout the enclosure as a extra drying substrate including in his hide. Keep the enclosure clean of all urates, feces and urine. Good luck and stay in peace and not pieces.

Not sure it's anything to be too alarmed about. Treating with a little Betadine is a good idea. I'm guessing after the next shed you won't see this anymore.

He shed it off yesterday, and belly looks fine now. Shrug!

Sure wasn't happy about me checking, though. There was much flailing and musking to be had. Still holding out hope that maybe, one day he'll accept me. Haha.

Wow, that's great! I'm sure he will.
