    Varid Diet?

I've got mine on f/t cut pinkies. I've read contradicting cares. Some say if on mice they have all they need, some don't. So I figured I would ask the experts. What do y'all do?

Main question is: Since mine are on pinkie parts. Should I still dust them with Rep-Cal say once a month? Mix in worms sometimes with dust?

If you're regularly feeding prey with bones (pinkies or fish) you don't need to dust with calcium.

They can get all their nutrients from mice, but I think a variety of mice, silversides, and worms is probably the best. I also prefer to do two lighter feedings during the week as opposed to just one large feeding. I think it really helps their metabolism to be able to digest smaller meals more quickly.

I've never feed fish as Petsmart is a way out. I do go there about once a month and get a month or more supply of Frozen Pinkies, ect.. I'm not opposed to mixing in a fish to his diet, but I need a easy list of PetsMart fish that they can consume.

I'm thinking a pinkie, worm rotation and a once a month fish diet? I'm also a feeder of smaller meals more often.

Each food source has its own benefits. A varied diet is the best.

They have packs of silversides in the freezer section. If you're getting your mice from petsmart you may want to consider looking online for a vendor. It looks more expensive bc of the shipping, but it's not (at least if your prices are similar to the ones I've seen). Petsmart overcharges for that stuff.

I didn't know they had silversides in the freezer section. I'll look online for a vendor. Thanks Lora!

SOME Petsmarts have silversides. Mine doesn't.

Dart eats mouse only right now. I want to vary his diet a little bit, but he's gotten a little seasonally snotty about food lately (dropped from eating an entire halved pinkie per feeding to just 1/2 a pinkie) so I'm not sure if it's the best or possibly the worst time to start, haha.

It couldn't hurt to start trying to vary his diet. If he decides he doesn't like whatever you offer, it's not a big deal.
