    Hi I'm new

um my other post didnt seem to make it so this will be very short if I succeed in posting. I'm new to taking care of a snake and could use some clarifications on some things. I've already found more info on here that I couldn't find elsewhere on the net, I'm glad this is a friendly and helpful site.

Thank you for the warm welcome.... I think maybe my other post was just too long and didn't make it. Now I guess a quick question would be where to post questions about storeria dekayi. I know this is the garter snake site and you tolerate some other species, but there doesnt seem to be adequate info on care for this species anywhere.

    Re: Hi I'm new

Storeria dekayi is welcomed here. They are a wonderful snake. Care is very similar to garters with a few differences. Dekayis don't as a rule require a heat source(this would depend on the ambient temp). Food is also a little different but that diet has been modified by some. Some dekayis have taken pinky parts as an example.
I will put a call into our resident S. dekayi expert who is also one of the Mods.(infernalis-Wayne)
. Call made and Wayne will respond.

If your question is about breeding then use the breeding forum tab or if it's a general question use the general forum tab. This is the welcome lounge and not the place for question that fit other tabs.
Maybe one of the mods. can address the issue you are having with posting.
