Unless you have a good level of experience or have found something completely new - buy a CB snake. Easier on you and fairer on the animal.
Keeping - 'Florida blue' sirtalis, concinnus, infernalis, parietalis, radix, marcianus and ocellatus.

There are plenty of people right here to get snakes from, rather than disrupting an already delicate ecosystem.

Yeah, unless you have experience and the know-how to treat for parasites, know all the tricks to get them eating and spot common wild ailments, etc. then I would suggest getting captive born. It's not that CB is any better but in order to keep WC successfully long term they need to be treated for parasites and in some cases, treated with antibiotics. Once that's done they can make excellent pets and settle right into captive life. Check your local laws too. It might be illegal to collect and/or keep native wild snakes. *rolls eyes*

Perfectly legal where I am to carry and ounce of marijuana but illegal to keep a garter snake you find in your garden. Makes perfect sense to me.
