    New Additions!

Nothing very exciting... just some checkered garters. Both are good looking, though, and the female is very stout. She is only 2.5 ft or so but around 160 grams -- and girthy! I'll throw in a pic of my new king as well... I'm hoping to produce some hybrids with him!

Oh I know! I'm happy to have them... It's just that they are so common... I'd rather something rare to show off!

If you ask me, the rarest garters in captivity aren't all that great. Maybe that's why they're rare in collections did you ever think of that? Marcianus is common and widely kept for a good reason. Because they're hardy, reproduce readily, and because they're just awesome.

This is quite the pep talk! I think I should change my username to Marcianusman now... you guys have a way of drumming up enthusiasm!

Accordingly, the garter that originally got me to join this forum was a concinnus. Amazing snake. Likely my favorite of all time (of any herp) because of her personality.
