    Your snakes names?

I figure there's already been a post in here somewhere, where everyone has listed their snakes names. But I can't find one anywhere. I've found a couple discussions about whether or not to name your snake and a couple requests for help with snake names, but not one with everyone's snake names, which I think would be a very interesting and fun thread. So, if there's one out there, feel free to post the link here, but otherwise I'll start with mine.

Albino Checkered - Morpheus (since he's a morph and also after the movie Matrix)

Then I have two valley garters that I never did name and now I have a couple ribbons and a new blackneck baby that I need to find names for.

Binky - albino checkered. Named after Death's horse in the Discworld novels.
Eskerina - normal checkered. Named after the Discworld's first female wizard in Equal Rights.
Lacrimosa - Lake Cuitzeo Garter. Named after a vampire character in Masquerade (a Discworld novel).
Vladimir - Lake Cuitzeo Garter. Lacrimosa's brother in the book, but for us he's Lacci's mate.
Sybil - Western Blackneck. Lady Sybil Ramkin appears in at least half a dozen Discworld novels.
Vimes - Western Blackneck. Commander Vimes of the Ankh-Morpork Watch marries Sybil.
Nobby - Red-sided Garter. I thought Nobby was male, turns out she's not, but the name stuck. Corporal Nobby Nobbs of the Ankh-Morpork Watch, is alleged to be human. Nobby the snake's species was open to debate, but alledged to be parietalis.
Adora Belle - Radix. One of the lead characters in some of the Discworld books, romantic interest for...
Lipwig - Radix. Moist Von Lipwig first appears in Going Postal, a Discworld novel about competition between the postal service and the "clacks".

You should be spotting a theme by now...

Twoflower - San Francisco Garter. Takes us back to the very first Discworld novel, where Twoflower is a tourist, probably American who dresses in loud shirts and lacks common sense. One of my favourite descriptions in any book is used to describe Twoflower and his lack of common sense which should have got him killed, something along the lines of: "He was the sort of person that would stand on the top of the highest hill, wearing soaking wet copper armour, in the middle of a raging thunderstorm and shout 'All gods are bastards'...". I digress.

We left the theme for our infernalis.
    Disco - California Red-sided.
    Towering - California Red-sided.
    Dante - California Red-sided.
    Blazing - California Red-sided.
So no Discworld theme (we wanted dragon names, but there are surprisingly few named dragons on the Dysk), but we were calling them "the infernal three" (before Blazing arrived) and their names all a play on something when they are used to prefix "inferno".

Lastly, back to the original theme.

Iodine - Radix. Another female character in the same storylines as Lipwig and Adora Belle.
Gytha - Checkered. Nanny Ogg (witch) has a first name, it's Gytha.
Esme - Checkered. Granny Weatherwax (witch) has a first name too.

So all apart from the infernalis are named after characters created by Sir Terry Pratchett in his Discworld series. And within the Discworld theme different species use names of related characters. It's a fun way to name the garters.

    T. marcianus, T. e. cuitzeoensis, T. cyrtopsis, T. radix, T. s. infernalis, T. s. tetrataenia

    I have a neon blue California Red-sided Garter and I named him Wakko after Wakko Warner from the 90s cartoon Animaniacs. Wakko wore a red hat and a oversized blue turtleneck. I thought it was fitting.. I also have a few non-garter snakes;

Emerald Tree Boa - Jarvis (Ironman)
Brazilian Rainbow Boa - Caçadora or Dora for short... means huntress in Portuguese.
Dumerils Boa - Khan... see Star Trek II.
