Smile New here and to snakes.

Hi guys. I joined this sight just days after I received a Puget Sound garter snake from a friend who had been breeding them.
He is 7 months old, born on September 10th.

He is very friendly and cuddley, but as I am very new to keeping snakes as pets I could use all the advice I can get.

I got him just as he was about to shed so I have not had much experience with his eating habits. However I have encountered a problem shed for my first shed. Thanks to looking on here, I was paying extra attention to his shed and noticed his head did not shed along with the rest of his body. Hopefully with the advice I got here and help from the breeder we can get this solved before it becomes a problem for him.

Anyways, thanks in advance for all the help I am sure I will be receiving from all of you at some point.

    Welcome from a chilly Winnipeg!

As for the shed, you're lucky that it's on his face. Place him in a container with some wet, warm paper towels and he should slough that off himself. Good luck!
