A few more newby questions

Okay so the three florida blue garters I have are starting to settle into their homes. I see them out if its the 3rd or 4th day since the last feeding (when they want to eat). Well anyway, they are super strikey (they strike at me through the glass even), and while its cute when they flatten their heads out or sit with their mouth open and ready to strike me when I put food in (they can't break the skin, its quite cute) I don't want to stress them. I also don't care for the fact that the few times I have had to remove them from the cage (to clean) they musk and strike and just otherwise go crazy. Will they eventually calm down? Should I try to handle them more to calm them or leave them alone?

Give them more time. I only keep 1 and she's very social. She an adult.

I've got a female red spotted garter snake right now, a little over a month old, absolutely hates me. Terrfied of me. Hides. Strikes sometimes.

A year ago, I had male checkered that was exactly the same, at the same age. He's not perfectly chill, active, bold. Still would rather I didn't bother him too much but the progress is phenomenal from before.

Just give them time like Steve said.

Chin rub'ens lol
When you have to handle them for cleaning their tank, when holding them rub their chins n neck. I find it confuses them because predators don't come from below. It's worked wonders with my Flames. While they never bit me they would musk n flail around and just plain freak out. I started to pet their chins n neck. It worked awesome.
