    Babies not eating.

So my ordinoides had a litter of 9 on Aug 1st. 1 escaped and is MIA atm. So far 6 are eating healthily, but 2 arent eating at all, and they are the only two that don't retain any melanism from the mother. What can I do to try to get them to eat? They wont eat nightcrawler bits, herring, salmon, or trout. Im assuming they wont eat pinky bits if they wont eat any of the other stuff. Im still looking for a camera to take pics with.

Congrats on the litter, maybe try offering live guppies to the non-feeders?

    I don't think T.ordinoides eats fish as a rule but it's worth a try.

Just keep trying different items presented in different ways. If they'd eat it in the wild, they're bound to eat it in captivity sooner or later.

    Re: Babies not eating.

Are you feeding them all together? I know I have a couple of babies that do not want to compete for food with the other babies. I often have to take them out and put them in a feed tank alone to eat. Also...I have shy eaters that will only eat when the food is put under a hide or if I drape a towel over the enclosure.

Place them each in plastic containers with the food n some water. leave them alone awhile. If food isn't moving you can gently swish the food n water mix back n forth to get the babies attention, I do this all the time for stubborn eaters who only want moving food. Works wonders.
