    Possibly helpful feeding tip

...And after 3 months the stubborn corn snake eats!
I read that opening the head and exposing the brain to your snake makes them go CRAZY for it. If it works for corns, it probably works for Garters, too, so if you have any Garters that wont eat try it!

They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.

Tried it a few times, never got any results. I had better results when I started thawing mice in air instead of water.

I think I may try that Stefan. I've got a radix male who hasn't eaten properly for nearly two months. He ate really well when I first picked him up (but he would have been hungry as John had been in hospital for a while at that point) and I had been putting it down to being unsettled as I'd moved him a couple of times. I'll try air thawing this week.

Mine have always seemed to like the smell of brain and organ meat. It was how I got Houdini to try pinkies.

Haven't noticed much of a difference with my garters. They are food crazy though. This almost always helps out with baby rodent eating snakes! I'll have to try it with a finicky garter sometime.

Moved some of the BS, that made up 80% of the thread. You all know where to find it.
