    Question about eye coloring

I don't know if the pics show it as well but this snakes eyes seem more red than any of the other snakes that are in the house so it made me wonder... do snakes eye color differ in the same way humans do? If so, does different eye color mean anything in terms of lineage?

    Re: Question about eye coloring

Is that an eastern or a radix? The yellow stripe says radix...nevermind...just counted the supralabials...but wow...that body sure looks eastern. Well...hmmm...those eyes look a lot like Cee Cee's eyes...my eastern. Not as bright...but hers do have an auburn hue to them. My radixes...well Sadie has black eyes...but Sammy is a red radix...his eyes are sort of like the snake in your pic...but more of a light reddish tan.

    Re: Question about eye coloring

That is kind of the reason I made the thread Marnie. The pic does not show it or express it the way I was hoping. When I picked this gal up this morning something about the way the suns natural light hit her eyes they showed really red, which hit me odd because from memory none of the snakes in the house seemed to have this, they're black/brown. So then it made me wonder if like human genetics, snakes express any clue as to their parents based on eye color? Do snakes even get their eyes categorized like humans by color? Are there blue eyed snakes running around out there?

I don't know about snake eyes, but human eye color is polygenic so predicting eye color is rather difficult.

My NWs have different colored eyes. Maria has kind of a goldish amber color, Fish Bait and Willow have more red. Fish Bait is Willow's son. Not sure if that means anything at all though.

Runt has a red tinted golden brown colour in her eyes, Silver had white/Silver eyes (His body was also silver, hence the name)... Derpy has really dark... Derpy eyes.. Haha.
