    Hi from NM!

Hi! So I'm new here with 3 brand-spanking-new wandering garter snakes. I also have a cornsnake, mice (Mostly as a food source but I like to see what colors I get!), and a new breeding colony of african soft furred rats (3 of the rats just had their first litters. 35 pups in all, I'm hoping I can get some takers on craigslist because it's way too many!). I also have cats!

What else? I'm married, going to nursing school, working full time, and all around a geek! That's about it in a nut shell.

You've come to the right place. Garters are awesome.
Here's a link to the care sheet which is always a good read.

Yeah, we live on the mesa so there isn't much to burn around here. The bosque fire last week was visible from our house though. (The Rio Grande bisects Albuquerque and the cottonwood forests on either side are called bosque.) I guess some kids started a campfire that got out of control. It burned about 5 acres and even jumped the river but the houses were sparred by the direction the wind was blowing.

I'm glad you are safe. That is terrible about the kids causing the fire. Were they caught?

Sounds like you're going to fit in just fine. Welcome aboard!

What is it with everyone getting wandering garters lately? Someone just pack up a few and send them to me please?

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.
