    Neonate Garter ID?

So my coworker was camping a few weeks ago and scooped up a couple garter snakes and brought them home for her kids. Apparently one of them popped out about 10 babies last night and she brought me a couple. (Mostly in an attempt to pacify her husband who is freaking out about how many snakes they now have.)

I don't have a pic of the parent, just the babies. I'm pretty sure that the parent was caught in New Mexico but I'm not sure what part. Looking online, I'm thinking they're T.e. vagrans but was wanting to know your thoughts? I can take additional pictures if needed!

Garters are completely new to me, all I have had up to this point is a very spoiled cornsnake. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions in the coming weeks...

    Thanks!

Awwww, simply precious!!! I love my adult Wandering. She is very sweet and friendly. She is also my biggest escaper. She was wild caught though and the others are captive bred so that may have something to do with it. Congrats on your sweet new babies

Hey since you said you are completely new to garters I thought that I should make you aware that wandering garters have been reported to be cannibalistic and it might be best to separate the babies from the adults and maybe even each other.
