    Thermostat probe

    My setup arrived for my T.macianus (the snake arrives on Tuesday cant wait!)I'll be keeping it in an exo terra faunarium untill it grows up.I put the heatmat underneath the tank will the thermostat probe be ok on top of the the mat?

    I would think that as long as the probe wire doesn't create an escape possibility it should be fine.

    its not inside the cage its directly on the mat...should i put it inside the cage ?

    If I understand correctly, the probe will be attached on the underside of the heat mat. I'm not sure how accurate a temp. that will give since the hotter part of the mat will be the top.

    I have the probe inside the viv just above the substrate, same as the thermometer probe.
    Because that is where the snake usually is.

    I put my probe above the substrate just a little over from where the mat is...actually it's a little down in the substrate to keep it from moving...but you get the idea.

    Ok,so ill buy a plastic box for the snake and make a hole in it for the stat probe and use the faunarium as a feeding/holding tank.

    About 18"long,12" inches wide and abot 8"tall i think
