    Please Help With Snake ID

    SNAKE.jpg

I like in OKC, OK and found this critter in my backyard. He was not hostile at all and even tried to flee when I got close. Any ideas on the ID?

I think it's a type of water snake, not garter. I'm not too sure though!

I found a picture of a Midland water snake that looks just like it. I did read that the Northern is migrating into Oklahoma though.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.

How old is that map, Steve? Is it possible that the range of the snake has shifted in the interim?
