    Vitamins

Giving vitamins is a great way to supplement your snake's diet. If you can't get a certain food for your snake, vitamins could replace it. However, it wouldn't be wise to feed your snake ONLY vitamins

if your garter is on rodents, they don't need the supplements. i only dust worms once in a while if they eat them, but i get them on rodents as soon as i can.

Rodents have enough nutritional value so that vitamin supplements don't need to be used, however, it is good to give them other things besides rodents also.

When I used to have my bearded dragon, I would dust all the crickets with vitamins when I fed him. Sometimes I wouldn't dust them because I was lazy, but I did most of the time.
