Hello, I am new

I guess the first thing I should do would be to introduce myself. I have no idea what I should say, so I'll just write whatever comes to mind.

I am a socially awkward, very introverted person, my family had a house surrounded by wheat fields, a few kilometers away from the closest village, so I grew up weird. I think my parents started realizing when I started asking for a pet snake. I was around 5 years old at the time. They'd always find excuses and try to scare me with made-up stories about how bad and dangerous snakes were, to try to deter me. At some point I realized they'd never listen to me and stopped asking. Some time later, my parents got divorced, my mom became more abusive and locked me up in the house, so I had no time to think about fancy things like getting a snake. At some point it all became too much so I moved with my dad. I started becoming more of a person and finding joy in life again. With that returned my old dreams and aspirations that I never really gave up on. I recently started looking up things and trying to learn more about snakes so I can choose the right one for me and provide it with proper care. I fell in love with garter snakes. Sadly, they aren't common even in the US, much less in Europe and not even as a joke in Greece, where even corn snakes are rare. So when looking for more way to get information, I found my way here. I have nothing to offer but my appreciation and enthusiasm for garter snakes and have a lot of questions, but I hope to become an active member on this community, so nice to meet you, I guess.
