    Out of town

Damn few minutes ago my boss told me that I will work out of town from Monday to friday maybe Saturday and my other eastern didn't gave birth yet!!! And I have a lot of babies to take care of.
    Hope she give birth tomorrow.
My only friend that could take care of my snakes is on vacancy and he lives an hour from here .Always at the worst time....

I will make extra hiding place for babies¸don't want the mom to crush them. And the smell OH GOd if some babies die or death at birth.I have A blower with coal filter but its not efficient at some point.
I want to fed the mom as soon as possible because she stop eating gradually for days and definitely stop one week ago.I already have few frogs and toads in the fridge just for her...Usually as soon as they give birth i fed them like pig .

So many little things that make me feel timid.
I need A girl friend who can take care of my snakes¸Is that possible ,where is she??
More plausible that I will make extra time on job and Hope finish on thursday. The story of my life but at least I have a job!!!

    Re: Out of town

BAck to reality.I've been worried with good reasons. All babies are dead, all ...Every single babies was in perfect condition good size,no slug no deformation just dead.I was worried because I never saw a snake acting like her.
Few days before I left home for work she was turning around the aquarium looking for something all the time, usually that last one day or two just before birth .She looked very uncomfortable did'Nt want food.

She don'T want food at this time ,I tried toad ,frogs ,worms, trout jellow, nothing.Tomorrow I will force fed her and probably keep her until spring or I wll keep her forever....I feel a bit guilty because she is wild caught, and this is not supposed to happen.
I think she did'nt gave birth when it was time she gave birth too late!?
Collecting wild garter snake for their babies hum not so good.I always said that its ok if you know what your doing..I cant control everything.
But I was sure something like that was going to happen with her.

Sorry to hear that Charles. It does seems to work out most of the time but capture stress could be an issue.
