After what age after birth would be good to release newborns into the wild? Is it ideal to release mom with them? I was planning on keeping my newborns until Spring, because then they'd be approximately 6 months old, but I was wondering what you guys think.

Oh, and I'm also looking at the idea of seeing if any of y'all on here want one or 2 or whatever, but shipping and pricing, etc... seems like a rather large task, considering I don't know how much a captive born radix baby with a WC mom would even START at...

The sooner they get into their area the better, unless you do a next Spring release. You get cold quick up there and stay cold longer. They have to find a place to brumate before Winter hits.
Holding them until Spring gives them a better chance at making it though.

That's what I'm worried about. I want to give them the best chance of survival, and the only way I feel like that could happen is by keeping them until spring.

I think you are right. Mother Nature can be cruel to the little scrubs but it is nature and natural.

What about the other side of it? finding them good homes? What's your opinion?
