Question Should I worry about ACs?

The room that i'll be keeping the garter snake in has an air conditioner and was wondering if I should have the under tank heater on at night?
I have the AC on right now and so far the tank's temp reads 80.2F but I'm worried about the temperature late at night.

I think I would be more worried that the temp. doesn't get warm enough to allow thermoregulating. The warmer temps also can aid in digestion.

Unless the AC is blowing directly at it or the room is dropping down into the low 50's you should be fine.

For what it's worth I keep all my under tank heaters on 24/7. You'll be fine to leave it on to avoid it getting too chilly as long as the snake can escape the heat when it needs to as well.

considering how hot it is now I might just need to use the heater at night, though since I don't blast the AC I might not need the heater until fall/winter .

Yeah there ya go, as long as you get your temps where you want them it doesn't matter too much how they get there

I read about it, I just didn't realize that it was called thermoregulation.
