    Thamnophis.com World Meeting

    Here's a thought:

    What if we organized a HUGE Thamnophis.com meeting.... somewhere in the US, at some time in the future? We could gather members from all over The States and Europe, and have a great get-together for two or three days. Maybe even with a day of field herping thrown in?

    Obviously this would be quite expensive for some of us, so a lot of forward planning would be needed. We would need to consider;
    Location, somewhere easily accessible for the maximum number of members, but with interesting herps.
    Season, of course we want good herping weather, but we need to consider school holidays etc.
    Proximity to airports, for obvious reasons.
    Availability of accommodation.
    Maybe even export permits, we Europeans might want to bring something home!

    This is just the very beginnings of a plan. I need you guys to 'flesh out the bones' if you think it's a good idea.
    James.

    I think it is a fantastic idea but for me it wouldn't be until 2009 as i already have a trip to london planned, a trip to Hamm planned and a holiday for 2 weeks in Syria. so i am well and truely skint until then.

    I think that 2009 would probably be the earliest! How about accommodation? We could rent a farmers field and have a giant camp!

    Just to get this out of the way, I'm not going to be able to participate.

    James, you asked for my input, so here it comes: I think it's overly ambitious.

    Will it just be me, sitting on my own in the middle of a field..... wishing I'd remembered my tent?
