    Talking New Terrarium set up?

Ok So I don't know if kijij is in the states or not, but here in Canada ITS FREAKING AWESOME!!!
buy and sell site where ya'll can find great deals as well as people who think their crap is worth WAY to much lol

I found an awesome deal. A basically brand new 18x18x24 Front Opening Exo Terra Terrarium, with Exo Terra textured background which will be awesomely modified soon for 60 bucks! So I could use some ideas on what to build or how to set it up. Please note I am rather capable of building fake rock hides, which is going to be part of the background, I also have glass chunk triangles flat that I was thinking of making a shelf or something. Pour on the creative ideas! What do your snakes like?

Great price. I've got one coming new this week. It was on offer for £79 (had £40 odd off) which is around 126 Canadian dollars (is expedia exchange calculator is right). You definatelty did the right thing there.

Our guys like lots of plants the can climb up. Fake is better. Easier to clean.
We found rough rocks and wood is a good idea. Looks great for decoration but is also useful to the snake when they shed. Binky uses a lump of log in her viv to anchor loose skin to in order to slip out of it more easily. Try and get any wood from a reptile shop or aquarium shop as it will have been treated for any nasty stuff that might be bad for the snakies.

Ours also like a large pool of water as they enjoy a good soak.

    Hop that helps.

i would recommend you take out the false rock effect from the back you can still place it at the back but on the outside of the glass if you don't you will find your snakes think that wedging themselves up the back of it is the greatest thing since sliced bread reducing you garter keeping pleasure to almost zilch
An added problem i encountered was i forgot to close the cable holes in the lid and it took me a week to catch my male florida blue who had used the rock effect background to reach the said hole care needs to be taken when closing these type of doors you will fully understand when you start to use your new viv

Mine like lots of different textures. I made both of their hides by using Great Stuff foam and carving out the shape I wanted. Then I used aquarium safe silicone to stick on various things. Like, soft coco-fiber on the inside and bark on the outside. I also use it to 'glue' chunks of the foam to the walls of the tank and anchor hanging vines.. Houdini loves it, but like Pinjohn said, if the top of your tank isn't REALLY secure, giving them access to the top of the tank isn't always a good idea.

Also, if you want to use wood from outside, you need to cook it first to get rid of any unwanted critters.

Post pictures once you finish setting up the terrarium! I always enjoy looking at other people's cage setup ideas.

lol Mine tries that too, but I moved everything just far enough away from the glass that she don't get stuck... Still working slowly on the new sett up, what if i silicone the background on n seal it so that its impossible to get in behind it? It looks little odd outside the tank... The top screen has been 'fixeed' so that there are no holes for wires n is secure... even if she could climb to the top she couldn't wedge herself in it or get out (tested by me pushing it up it don't budge) Holes are all hot glued shut n solid...
