    Type of night crawler?

Hi everyone, this is my first post. My daughter has been wanting a snake and I have been researching garter snakes for awhile. I know red wigglers are bad. I am setting up a vermicomposting bin, which can take either African or European night crawlers. I cannot find a solid answer on the internet for which one is better for feeding to a snake (specifically a garter snake). Could anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you!

The safest thing to do is feed Canadian Nightcrawlers (Lumbricus terrestris). I would stay away from any kind of compost worm.

They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.
