Beautiful snakes! The one with the two heads peeking out of the hide is precious...you should put that in a contest! Great names too!

They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.

No, those are no good. Might as well send them to me so I can dispose of them for you.

They are all very gorgeous snakes...but I especially love the one in the second pic...the blue and orangish snake...that is a T.s.tetrataenia? The colors are amazing...just stunning! What area are they native to?

    Re: T.s.tetrataenia pics :)

The first, second, and third pic are Thamnophis sirtalis (T.s.) tetrataenia. And yes, there aren't very many people that don't think they're gorgeous. They are considered by many to be North America's most beautiful snake.

Unfortunately, they are off limits to us here in the USA. They are also known as the San Fransisco garter snake, and are a federally endangered species. Penalties for collecting, trafficking, or possession are pretty severe.

California Red Sided garter snake (T.s. infernalis) can look similar, be just as beautiful, and won't get us into trouble with the law.

I just want to point out that it is a specific locality of infernalis that has the blue in them.
In the rest of the range they do not look like that.
