    New Albino Flame!

Paid a little visit to Tom's house today... boy he has some really nice snakes! and I picked out my super amazingly awesome albino flame! After seeing his adult female albino flame I am STOKED for when this little guy (its a male) grows up! I also got a female 66% poss het from that litter. You guys should buy them... they have really nice color! Thanks a bunch Tom!

    Here he is!

and here's the female, nice color for a non-flame!

I know this is prol'ly covered in another trhead, but looking for an abridged version- what's the difference between a flame and this female?

    Beautiful additions by the way.

Well, she may color up to be a flame... she's from a litter of RED flames so compared to the really red offspring, she's not quite there. It's not that she isn't a flame, it's just that she isn't a flame in the same sense that some of her clutchmates are. She could color up dramatically... we will see how it goes!

    Re: New Albino Flame!

The real answer is that it is likely a polygenic trait and not a "codominant trait" and that female didn't inherit as much or as high of a ramdom percentage of the genes as thus doesn't express as much deep red-orange, so she's not really a normal, but a lower end flame inheritance sibling from a flame parent, which also means there is no such thing technically as a "het" flame, but this opens a whole nother' discussion, but I'm tired of explaining it and maybe its just easier to use words like codominant and het, albeit technically likely incorrect, but just for simplicity sake, but this is all just my educated guess, not a known proven fact....yet. What are your thought Shannon? I have a feeling you may be one of the few people who would agree with me and relate to what i am talking about.
