Glad to be here!
Hi all. I joined recently and posted, then realized an introduction is probably in order. My name is Kephren, pronounced with an ''f'' :P . I was born on Vancouver Island, and grew up watching Crocodile Hunter, all day . . . every day. My life has been designed around herpetology since birth basically. When I was 2 I caught a garter, from then on I was hooked on all of our fascinating, triumphant organisms. The fact that reptiles and amphibians classify the only living vertebrates without appendages is what I love the most. Look at a frog's life from birth and tell me you don't see incredible strength, diverstiy and challenge. The perspective these animals would have on life were they sentient would be mindblowing. I have made it my life goal to ensure that by the time I die, these animals will have all the respect and love they deserve. I cringe when someone cringes at the sight of an insignificant snake in the grass. To them it is insignificant, because they were brought up on the fact that they've always been here; they're just snakes. a good 5 billion people need to learn, they aren't just snakes. I am so glad to be part of a network who would agree.
Hopefully, one day you'll see me on TV reliving the life of Stever Irwin, but I'l throw some austin stevens and Mr.T in there too :P

I grew up with garters, too! We used to have Fitchii here, when I was a kid. My uncle would let me play with the garter snakes when I was a baby, and once I was 3-6 my adoptive dad's (now landlord) workers would be commanded to catch any snake they found when they were working and bring it to me! Haha. A few of them would bring me salamanders and frogs too... It was really awesome!

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.
